"Our operations will continue uninterrupted. Under any conditions, in any way."
As deadly Iranian missiles strike across Israel, those already suffering from hunger struggle harder.
Already in Israel many are below the poverty line and struggle for food. During the war Hamas terrorists targeted Israel’s most vital farm land. Now Iran’s bombs make it unsafe for farmers and others to provide for those most in need.
In ordinary times our army of over 100,000 volunteers are able to distribute food from farms, IDF bases and elsewhere to those who need it most. And for a time, it seemed as though Israel was well on the road to recovering from Hamas’ terrorism.
As our founder, Joseph Gitler puts it, “if we had spoken last Thursday, I would have said that we were 90% back to normal, after the attack on Iran, we are far from it.”
But now Israelis are forced to endure a national lockdown as Iran’s bombs fall over head.
Once again tens of thousands more go without food in a time of war.
But we are NOT deterred!
“Our operations will continue uninterrupted. Under any conditions, in any way.” says our CEO, Gidi Kroch. “The uncertainty is immense, and no one knows when the fighting will end or how it will evolve. But amid all this uncertainty, there is one thing we at Leket Israel can guarantee: Our logistics center, trucks, offices, and work in the field have not stopped.”
As such we have ramped up our emergency response.
